The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld complaints against the EasyJet advert claim that all of it’s seats were available at a discounted price during January.
The airline was stating that all of it’s seats were available as advertised, with a 30% discount, but it soon became evident to customers that prices were rising as seats were booked, and this could be witnessed online as bookings were being placed with EasyJet.
The ASA has ruled that Easyjet can not run the adverts any longer, and they must remove any references to the promotion from all of their advertising, and any future promotions or discounts must be substantiated by actual evidence. In future EasyJet must include at least 10% of seats at the advertised discounted price.
