Travel Writer Policy
As you prepare to journey to South Louisiana's Cajun Country, get ready to discover an area so unique you'll think you are in another country. Lafayette is a city where the old meets the new at every turn, where French is still spoken, where strangers are treated as family and friends. Tradition and culture run through Acadiana like our many bayous and swamps.
The Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission can provide you with as much or as little assistance as desired. An itinerary, if desired, will be developed to accommodate the writer's specific needs. The itinerary can include accommodations, meals, attractions and interviews.
During the writer's stay in Lafayette, ground transportation may be provided by a Commission staff member. Should a rental car be necessary, every attempt will be made to keep the cost to the writer to a minimum.
The Commission can provide a knowledgeable guide to assist the writer in maneuvering around the area.
The Commission maintains color slides and digital images for loan should the writer need pictures to accompany a story.
