Lafayette has a thriving arts community, consisting of theatre, visual arts, music (especially music) and we even think of our cuisine as a work of art! We have more than our fair share of fine arts and museums and a whole treasure trove of traditional works, taught by generation after generation of artisans.

We have even perfected the language arts with storytelling and even joke-telling being handed down for generations. Stories are our life, but we?ll share! On swamp tours, at Acadian villages or even the local post office! Many a visitor has returned home with mesmerizing stories of Evangeline and funny stories of Boudreaux and Thibodeaux and even hair-raising adventures of near misses with real alligators or even a ghost or two.
